Static-X frontman Wayne Static’s final interview has been shared by the good folks over at Revolver. In it he speaks about his hobbies, the band’s he was listening to at the time prior to his death, and his favorite tracks from his own catalog. He also shared some kind words of gratitude for his fans along with an eerily foreboding closing statement. It’s like one of those crazy cases when musicians coincidentally predict their own passing. You can read that particular excerpt below, for the complete interview click here.

Wayne Static passed away on November 1st, he was 48. The exact reason for his passing has not been revealed yet.

“It’s been a long journey and honestly, I can’t believe that I’m still relevant to the music scene. I can’t believe I’m still touring and still making records. I never in a million years expected all this. It’s all because of my fans. I have the best fans in the world. They’re hardcore and diehard. I do it all for them. I keep going for them. I want to keep everyone happy and excited. I realize that’s my job. The reason I’m on this planet is to make people happy.

I used to think my job was to rock out with my cock out and shit like that, but that’s not my job. My job is to make people happy. I go on stage and I see people’s faces light up and I see everyone smiling. I don’t see people fucking banging their heads and shit, I see everyone smiling at me, having a good time and singing along.

I’m just really glad that I can provide that service to everyone and take an hour out of everyone’s shitty day, so that they can have a good time and enjoy themselves. So thanks you to all of my fans for sticking by me. I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing ’til I’m dead.”
