In case you care but had not heard Soundcheck Hollywood, a metal and rock retail store opened by Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen, closed it’s doors for good as of September 1st. A post was made to the store’s Facebook on August 13th to announce the closing, which you can read below:

It always sucks when a store like this closes it’s doors. I know it’s not how music is sold anymore (if it’s sold at all because downloading) but there’s something about specialty stores like these that’s really awesome. Probably because they tend to carry underground stuff you sometimes can’t find elsewhere, even on the internet.
