Hailing from Florence, Kentucky, post-hardcore band Softspoken is comprised of Logan Combs, Chris Wethington, Billy Zimpelman, Garrett Harper, and Zach Payne. The quintet, who just inked a deal with We Are Triumphant, are thrilled to unveil details of their brand new debut EP entitled, Pathways, produced by Cameron Mizell at Chango Studios. The EP combines an eclectic mix of energized rock and ambient post-metal while dynamically blending both aggressive rhythms and soft grooves punctuated with a soaring and emotional range of vocals to produce a refreshing counterbalance of established sounds. The band expanded:
“We use different time signatures, and primarily sing over heavier parts where screaming is the norm.”
The 5-song EP is slated for release on October 28th and discusses challenges that many individuals face including addiction and mental illness. As mentioned by the band:
“We want our music to be thought and emotion provoking and therapeutic. We’re doing this music as a form of healing for ourselves and we also think and hope that people out there listening to it can find a similar source of vitality from it as well.”
