Official press release:

Avant-garde extreme metallists’ Schammasch‘s latest album Triangle, described as “a colossal mountain of darkness” (Roadburn), was released worldwide earlier this year to massive critical acclaim. Marking Schammasch‘s “most elaborate and exploratory release yet” while scorching audiences with its “statuesque doom, pitch-black atmospherics and pulverising death metal syncopations” (Metal Hammer) – Triangle consists of three distinct 33-minute compositions which reflect the three steps towards achieving a fulfilled state of being.

Part 1, The Process Of Dying, depicts the experience of loss, change and acceptance through death, Part 2, Metaflesh, depicts the balance between earthly life and the spirit world and Part 3, The Supernal Clear Light Of The Void, represents ones’ final state, the mastering of the ego – a state of freedom. A full stream of the epic release can be heard on Spotify. Schammasch mastermind and vocalist/guitarist C.S.R. remarked:

“Since Triangle has been released we’ve been asked over and over again if it will be performed live in its entirety at some point. The answer was always the same: a simple ‘no, because it’s impossible at the moment’. That is until now…”

Schammasch are beyond thrilled to reveal that for the first time ever Triangle will be played in it’s entirety during a showcase performance at the prestigious Roadburn Festival 2017 on Friday, April 21 at the appropriately ritualistic setting of Tilburg’s Het Patronaat church.

“We are immensely honoured to be given the opportunity of creating such a happening and being part of one of Europe’s most unique music festivals. Please join us at the wonderful Het Patronaat church for this extraordinary moment.”

As soon as the Swiss band dive into the very first notes of this darkest of triangles, the summoning will be felt all over Roadburn and the bodies and minds that are not already inside the Het Patronaat will be dragged there by untold forces for sure. Don’t even try to resist!
