Hip-hop/alternative trio RDGLDGRN‘s (pronounced red gold green) new video and single, “Opera” is live and can be viewed below. The track features a guest appearance by Method Man. Rapper Green comments:
“Human beings in this country are still being treated as if they were aliens. There’s a saying that we learned from protesters in Germany against the government and the country’s treatment of the Syrian refugees, it is that ‘NO HUMAN CAN BE ILLEGAL.’ That idea inspired this video. The aggression of the music and accent mirrors the way you view the speaker all the way from the beginning of the track to when it’s finally deconstructed at the end. So, basically, there are LEVELS TO THIS SHIT.”
The song is taken from the group’s currently untitled LP, which the group will be releasing this year through their Deuce Day World imprint. Pre-orders are available through PledgeMusic, with options that includes an opportunity (albeit a pricey one) to invest in their label, a studio hang, and an acoustic house show among others. The single is also available for individual purchase on iTunes.
The group are currently touring the U.S. with The Expendables and Tribal Theory. The run kicked off this past Friday and continues tomorrow at the House Of Rock in Corpus Christi, TX. The run also includes a stop in Mexico as part of a cruise. View the remaining dates below.
