King Giant to host listening party for new album Black Ocean Waves today; debut new beer

Official press release:

As their third LP, Black Ocean Waves, nears release this Summer, Northern Virginia’s King Giant has confirmed an advance local listening party for the album. Scheduled to take place this Friday, May 8th, the band will host a public listening event at Fair Winds Brewing Company in Lorton, Virginia, where the upcoming album will be blasting from start to finish, with the band in full attendance for press and fan interaction, the event co-sponsored by DCHeavyMetal.com. In addition, there will be door prizes, giveaways and more, while Fair Winds offers a debut tasting of King Giant’s own Black Ocean Waves Beer, for which a batch of special pint glasses have been crafted for the occasion.

Celebrating their tenth year as a band, King Giant’s latest tales of blood, tears and revenge through their brooding, doom-drenched take on Southern rock/metal are ready for release as the mighty Black Ocean Waves. The band recorded the album in July 2014 at Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore with engineer J. Robbins of Jawbox (Clutch, The Sword, Wino) who also mixed the record and supplies Hammond organ to the track, “Blood Of The Lamb” and background vocals on “Trail Of Thorns”.

Black Ocean Waves will come ashore on June 30th with CD/digital distribution through The Path Less Traveled, the band handling the vinyl version of the album directly. See more at KingGiant.com and stand by for upcoming King Giant live/tour news in addition to more samples from the album.
