Official press release:

Brooklyn band Family will share its “hooky, progressive, off-time riffs” (MetalSucks) and “good ol’ classic-rock boogie” (TimeOut NY) on forthcoming Prosthetic Records release Future History, due out July 15th.

Influenced and inspired by organic bands such as Led Zeppelin, Tool, Mastodon, and Baroness, Family presents a fiercely unique blend of classic rock flavor, behind-the-beat New Orleans groove, progressive rhythmic patterns, and modern metal bite.

Following in the conceptual footsteps of electrifying 2012 debut Portrait, the story of Future History revolves around the evolution of a divided human race. Stylistically, the album incorporates a cinematic undertone reflecting its basis on an original screenplay co-written by bandleader Steven Gordon.

The same production team from Portrait has joined forces once again: Future History was produced by Gordon, engineered and mixed by Justin Mantooth, and mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Torche, Baroness). The album also features guest appearances from David Castillo (Primitive Weapons, White Widows Pact, booker at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus Bar), Jesse James Madre (TigerFlowers), and Mike Keller (Meek Is Murder).

Future History is available now for physical pre-order on CD/LP and digital download pre-order will begin on June 17. Reserve your copy today at:
