Official press release:

Prog-rock foursome CHON is set to release their debut full-length album Grow on March 24th. Following the success of two independently released EP’s, CHON signed with Sumerian Records (Asking Alexandria, Crosses, Animals as Leaders), to create this highly anticipated new album. Surrounding the release of Grow, CHON will be supporting Circa Survive on a national tour through 25 cities, which is set to kick off on March 16th in Raleigh, NC.

When a band has the ability to paint a mental picture of their surroundings using only the color and texture of their music, magic happens. CHON, made up of Mario Camarena (guitar), Nathan Camarena (drums), Erick Hansel (guitar), and Drew Pelisek (bass), creates that magic, captivating listeners with bright tones, infectious rhythmic groove, and complex guitar sorcery – furthering an illusion that the listener is there with the band on the beach, feet in the sand. Guitarists Camarena and Hansel lend their unique styles to the concept of “virtuoso,” seamlessly blending jazz and fusion influences with a contemporary fashion, and their signature “chill” factor sprinkled on top.

No strangers to the road, CHON has previously toured in direct support to Animals As Leaders and After The Burial, and have graced the lineups of notable festivals such as Skate & Surf Music Festival, South By So What?!, and Sunset Strip Music Festival. With credible touring already under their belt and a full schedule ahead of them, CHON is ready to raise the general populations morale up a notch with Grow.

With excitement towards the upcoming release, the band tells us:

“We are suuuuper stoked to finally announce the upcoming release of our debut full length album Grow. Writing and recording it was fun A.F. and we hope it’s a fun listen for all of our supporters.”
